Organisations Using Community Centre

 

There are a number of  societies, clubs and organisations which use the community centre on a regular basis.   If you are interested in joining any organisation it is suggested that you approach an existing member  at the community centre itself;  alternatively speak to the Lettings Secretary.  The Main Hall is currently available every Monday evening should you be considering running a society or club yourself.   

 The Bures Art Group.  Meeting in the Garrad Room on a Tuesday morning the  group is a small number of people who support each other in their artistic work, painting, sketching and drawing.  No matter what level of expertise you have, from novice to skilled amateur you will be made welcome.  Contact  Chris Potter 01787 227081

The Bures Carpet Bowls.  New members are always made welcome.  Played on an indoor carpet with a biased bowl everyone is made welcome.  No personal equipment is required and training will be offered should you wish.  There is an open offer from the carpet bowls club to any one who would like to experience a free trial.  Please turn up at 7 p.m. on a Wednesday evening in the main hall.

Dance Group. 

 Meeting most Tuesdays,  the dance group is a thriving group of people fox trotting their way to fitness.  New members will always be made welcome.   Contact Brian at the hall on a Tuesday afternoon. 

Unfortunately Brian is shortly to leave the Dance Group which, because it will then be leaderless, will be disbanded.   If you are interested or know of someone who is a potential leader please speak to anyone on the Bures Community Centre committee - see Contact Us.  

Darby and Joan. 

Friday afternoon in the Garrad Room,  the Bures Darby and Joan meet most weeks.  During the cold and wet of winter there is a lunch club run on the first and second Friday of the month.  If you like home cooking and enjoy the pleasure of good company then please make  contact with Carol Barnham 01787 228417

History Society. 

 Meeting at 8 p.m. on the evening of the second Tuesday in the Garrad Room the History Society has a varied programme with a variety of speakers.  Contact Leigh Alston 01787  228016

Horticulture Society

Women's Institute.  

 The Bures Women's Institute gather for their formal meeting on the second Thursday in each month  in the Main Hall or sometimes in the Garrad Room. The W.I. also run an activity morning throughout the year on a Wednesday morning in the Garrad Room. New members are always made welcome.  Please contact Sandy Fagioli 01787 228261

Bures Stage Society.

Noah's Ark Nursary Group.  

The Group meet Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays with the  aim  to allow children from the age of 2 to develop their social and learning skills alongside friends in a happy, family style atmosphere.   Registered to look after no more than 26 children the Nursery Group may be contacted on hello@noahsarknurserygroup.com

Village Cinema

The Bures Community Centre run a Cinema evening on the third Thursday of the month throughout the year.
